...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM PDT
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Minor coastal flooding.

* WHERE...San Francisco and San Francisco Bay Shoreline Counties.

* WHEN...Until 5 AM PDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only
isolated road closures expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tidal levels are increasing as a result of
higher astronomical tides. Low lying areas within the SF Bay
Area may see minor flooding as a result during high tide. Next
high tide in San Francisco is 6.77 feet at 10:00 PM July 3rd.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Temperatures in the mid to upper 80s expected.
Temperatures near 90 for southeast portions of the city.

* WHERE...San Francisco.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM PDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Those sensitive to heat, such as the homeless,
elderly, children, and pets will be at risk for heat-related
illnesses. Those without effective cooling and/or adequate
hydration will be at the greatest risk.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The temperature will vary greatly across
the city with the highest temperatures in the SE and downtown
and more mild temperatures in the West Side and along.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay cool, stay out of the sun, and check
up on relatives and neighbors.

Beat the heat and check the backseat! Do not leave young children
and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to the early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and/or heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
